EuroMillions in a nutshell

EuroMillions is Europe’s biggest jackpot lottery. It was launched in 2004 by France, Spain and the United Kingdom and is now played in nine countries, with draws every Tuesday and Friday evening in Paris. The jackpot is capped at €250 million, after which extra money flows into lower prize tiers. A reform of the game has been approved by the French regulator for 2027: the ticket price is due to rise to €3 while the familiar 5/50 + 2/12 matrix stays the same. The numbers on this page follow the current rules.

How to play EuroMillions

  1. Choose five different numbers from 1–50, or let a Quick Pick choose them for you.
  2. Add two bonus numbers from 1–12. They are drawn from a separate pool, so the same value can appear in both parts of the result.
  3. Wait for the draw and compare your line with the winning numbers; the order does not matter.
  4. The top prize needs all five main numbers plus both bonus numbers; smaller combinations win lower prizes set by the operator.

What are the odds in EuroMillions?

A single EuroMillions line has a 1 in 139,838,160 chance of winning the top prize – that is the number of different combinations the draw can produce. Getting at least three main numbers right is far more common, about one line in 209, while a result of five main numbers with one of the two bonus numbers happens about once in 6,991,908 lines.

Among the 88 lotteries on this site, EuroMillions ranks number 81 for jackpot odds, where number 1 is the easiest. In Europe, Gosloto 7/49 (1 in 85.9 million) has better odds and Eurojackpot (1 in 139.8 million) has exactly the same odds. Compared with US Powerball, the jackpot is about 2.1 times easier to hit.

Playing two lines in two draws every week – 208 lines a year – you would wait on average around 672,299 years for one jackpot, so the jackpot is something to dream about rather than plan for.

Free EuroMillions tools

The number generator gives you up to ten EuroMillions lines in the exact format of the game, using your browser’s cryptographic random generator. The odds tab breaks down every possible result, while the demo draw runs a realistic draw with your own numbers. In the demo you also choose the bonus numbers from 1–12, exactly as on a real slip.

The simulator goes further: ten years of two lines twice a week means 2,080 lines, and on average about 9.7 of them would match exactly three main numbers while the chance of a top prize in that time is only about 1 in 67,230. Remember that a random line has exactly the same chance as any other; its real advantage is that you are less likely to share a prize with players who pick birthdays.
