What is Lotto 6/49 (Taiwan)?
Lotto 6/49, or Daletou in Taiwan, is Taiwan Lottery’s classic six-from-49 game, drawn every Tuesday and Friday at 20:30. A bet costs NT$50. Each draw produces six numbers plus a special number from the same pool, which only counts for some lower prizes. Around Lunar New Year the game runs a special season of daily draws and extra prize ‘red envelopes’, which makes it one of the most-searched lottery games in Taiwan every January and February.
How Lotto 6/49 (Taiwan) works
- Pick six different numbers from 1–49 – your own favourites or a random Quick Pick.
- Check your line once the numbers are drawn – only which numbers match counts, not their order.
- The top prize needs all six main numbers; smaller combinations win lower prizes set by the operator.
Your chances in Lotto 6/49 (Taiwan)
The draw can produce 13,983,816 different results, which means the jackpot odds for one line are 1 in 13,983,816. Lower down the table the picture changes quickly: a result of five main numbers turns up about once in 54,201 lines, and at least three correct main numbers about once in 54 lines.
In Asia, Mark Six (1 in 14.0 million) has exactly the same odds and TOTO (Singapore) (1 in 14.0 million) has exactly the same odds. Compared with US Powerball, the jackpot is about 21 times easier to hit. Among the 88 lotteries on this site, Lotto 6/49 (Taiwan) ranks number 38 for jackpot odds, where number 1 is the easiest.
Playing two lines in two draws every week – 208 lines a year – you would wait on average around 67,230 years for one jackpot, so the jackpot is something to dream about rather than plan for.
Using the Lotto 6/49 (Taiwan) tools on this page
Start with the generator: it produces random Lotto 6/49 (Taiwan) lines in the correct format, from one line to ten, and you can copy them in one click. The odds tab lists every match combination, and the demo lets you pick numbers and watch a simulated draw. In the demo you tap six numbers on a 49-ball board, or let Quick Pick do it.
The simulator goes further: ten years of two lines twice a week means 2,080 lines, and on average about 37 of them would match exactly three main numbers while the chance of a top prize in that time is only about 1 in 6,723. Remember that a random line has exactly the same chance as any other; its real advantage is that you are less likely to share a prize with players who pick birthdays.
