Double Color Ball in a nutshell
Double Color Ball (Shuangseqiu) is the flagship game of the China Welfare Lottery and one of the most-played lotteries in the world. Players pick six red balls from 1 to 33 and one blue ball from 1 to 16. A basic bet costs 2 yuan, and draws take place every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 21:15 Beijing time. New prize-tier rules took effect on 1 February 2026, but the 6/33 + 1/16 matrix – and therefore the jackpot odds of about one in 17.7 million – did not change.
How to play Double Color Ball
- Choose six different numbers from 1–33, or let a Quick Pick choose them for you.
- Add one bonus number from 1–16. It is drawn from a separate pool, so the same value can appear in both parts of the result.
- Wait for the draw and compare your line with the winning numbers; the order does not matter.
- The top prize needs all six main numbers plus the bonus number; smaller combinations win lower prizes set by the operator.
