Lotto (Belgium)
6 from 1–45

Uses your browser’s cryptographic random generator. Every combination has the same chance.

What is Lotto (Belgium)?

Lotto is the main draw game of the Loterie Nationale (Nationale Loterij) in Belgium, drawn every Wednesday and Saturday. Players pick six numbers from 1 to 45, and a bonus number is drawn from the same pool for the 5 + bonus prize. Belgium is also part of EuroMillions and EuroDreams, but its home lotto has much better jackpot odds of about one in 8.1 million. Proceeds from the National Lottery support good causes and public projects across the country.

How Lotto (Belgium) works

  1. Pick six different numbers from 1–45 – your own favourites or a random Quick Pick.
  2. Check your line once the numbers are drawn – only which numbers match counts, not their order.
  3. The top prize needs all six main numbers; smaller combinations win lower prizes set by the operator.

Your chances in Lotto (Belgium)

The draw can produce 8,145,060 different results, which means the jackpot odds for one line are 1 in 8,145,060. Lower down the table the picture changes quickly: a result of five main numbers turns up about once in 34,808 lines, and at least three correct main numbers about once in 42 lines.

In Europe, Lotto 6 aus 45 (1 in 8.1 million) has exactly the same odds and Lotto (Denmark) (1 in 8.3 million) is harder. Compared with US Powerball, the jackpot is about 36 times easier to hit. Among the 88 lotteries on this site, Lotto (Belgium) ranks number 18 for jackpot odds, where number 1 is the easiest.

Playing two lines in two draws every week – 208 lines a year – you would wait on average around 39,159 years for one jackpot, so the jackpot is something to dream about rather than plan for.

Free Lotto (Belgium) tools

For a quick pick, the generator above builds random Lotto (Belgium) lines – as many as ten at once – and checks that every number fits the 1–45 range. Switch to the odds tab for the chance of each combination, or open the demo to play a free draw. In the demo you tap six numbers on a 45-ball board, or let Quick Pick do it.

The simulator goes further: ten years of two lines twice a week means 2,080 lines, and on average about 47 of them would match exactly three main numbers while the chance of a top prize in that time is only about 1 in 3,916. No generator can improve the odds – every combination is equally likely – but it saves time and avoids popular patterns such as birthdays.
