What is SuperLotto Plus?
SuperLotto Plus is California’s own jackpot game and one of the best-known state lotteries in the US. It is drawn every Wednesday and Saturday, and like all California Lottery games it raises money for public schools in the state. Unlike Powerball and Mega Millions, the prizes below the jackpot are pari-mutuel: the amount you win for matching, say, four numbers depends on how many other players matched four in the same draw. The jackpot itself is only available to California players, which keeps the competition for it smaller than in the national games.
How SuperLotto Plus works
- Pick five different numbers from 1–47 – your own favourites or a random Quick Pick.
- Add one bonus number from 1–27. It is drawn from a separate pool, so the same value can appear in both parts of the result.
- Check your line once the numbers are drawn – only which numbers match counts, not their order.
- The top prize needs all five main numbers plus the bonus number; smaller combinations win lower prizes set by the operator.

The draw can produce 41,416,353 different results, which means the jackpot odds for one line are 1 in 41,416,353. Lower down the table the picture changes quickly: a result of five main numbers without the bonus turns up about once in 1,592,937 lines, and at least three correct main numbers about once in 174 lines.
